As summer heats up, the manufacturer of Goodyear Gatorback belts is reminding motorists that vehicle maintenance is all about timing. A timing belt kit promotion the company is running until Sept. 6 gives installers a working display to help educate consumers on the importance of each component in the timing belt system.

In addition, the kits include stickers similar to those used for oil changes to inform consumers just how critical the replacement is. According to Veyance’s belt experts, a timing belt and its components are an integral part of any vehicle. Depending on the engine type, if a timing belt or its components fail it could cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to the engine.

“If a timing belt and its components are not properly serviced on time, the pistons and valves can collide on interference engines causing severe damage to your vehicle, as well as excessive costs in repairs,” said Tory Perren, aftermarket marketing manager for Veyance. “We recommend replacing your belt and its components between 60,000 and 100,000 miles.”

The Goodyear Gatorback Timing Belt Kits offer quiet operation and long life, while maintaining length stability for any vehicle application. The kits are designed to meet or exceed OE standards and include easy-to-follow instructions, which allow mechanics at all levels to successfully complete an installation. Water pumps are included for applicable vehicles. Promotional items include a timing belt kit display, counter mat, replacement brochures and replacement stickers.
