Ohio Technical College (OTC), a trade school providing technical training in a variety of transportation industries, has been named one of Northeast Ohio's Top 75 Workplaces of 2010.

Ohio Technical College (OTC), a trade school providing technical training in a variety of transportation industries, has been named one of Northeast Ohio's Top 75 Workplaces of 2010.

The Top Workplace honor was awarded by The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer and Workplace Dynamics, who surveyed employees at OTC and its branch campus, the PowerSport Institute, on their job and work environment. Companies were not ranked on size, revenue, stock price or any other institutional measure; they were strictly evaluated on responses from the employee opinion surveys and then categorized by large, midsize and small employee-based companies.

OTC also is a partner with Motor Age and ABRN on its series of The Trainer how-to technical videos.

OTC - which has 191 employees - received various recommendations from its staff that can be viewed online at http://cleveland.topworkplaces.com. When asked what they found most motivational about working for the school, one OTC staff member responded, "Working for an organization that does not limit your personal and professional development and growth.  OTC rewards its employees for their loyalty and hard work."

Over the past three years, Ohio Technical College has received 2008 and 2009 Weatherhead Awards; the 2010 NEO Success Award; and been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

"Our full-time staff has quadrupled over the past five years, and I want to thank my employees for being the reason we received this impressive recognition," says Marc Brenner, president of OTC. "The awards are a testament to their hard work and dedication."
