Wagner® ThermoQuiet® brake pads are now available for the 2009 Toyota Venza and 16 other popular late-model foreign-nameplate applications.

The latest expansion of the Wagner ThermoQuiet product line – featured online at www.tqbrakepads.com – reflects Federal-Mogul Corporation’s leadership goals as an original equipment friction supplier to the world’s leading automakers.

“Our ability to leverage Federal-Mogul’s global portfolio of OE friction technologies helps bring a significant competitive advantage to service providers who want to grow their share of the foreign-nameplate category. By relying on Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads, these shops can restore quieter braking performance on virtually any popular import model,” says Ken Selinger, director of friction products, North America, Federal-Mogul. “Our coverage will continue to grow on a monthly basis as we bring new foreign-nameplate-specific designs to the North American market.”

In addition to coverage of the Toyota Venza (Wagner p/n QC1401, front; QC1402, rear), the ThermoQuiet product line has been expanded to include application-engineered semi-metallic, organic and ceramic disc brake pad sets for an extensive range of Audi, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Scion, and additional Toyota applications. Other new coverage includes late-model Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Pontiac and Saturn models.

The expanded new Wagner ThermoQuiet line combines Federal-Mogul’s patented Integrally Molded Insulator (IMI™) one-piece brake pad design and the patented Wagner EDGE® Laser-Shaped Friction™ technology – resulting in quieter performance, superior stopping power and longer pad life. The one-piece IMI design eliminates the need for a conventional shim and delivers maximum noise damping and heat dissipation, according to the company.

Federal-Mogul engineers have complemented this breakthrough design with Wagner EDGE Laser-Shaped Friction technology, which custom shapes the friction material to address the unique braking requirements of each covered application. Together these patented technologies help virtually eliminate braking vibration and noise. Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads also feature application-specific friction formulations engineered to follow original equipment specifications, as well as ceramic alternatives for many semi-metallic applications.
