The Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation and JHE Production Group selected Paul Amico of Mooresville, N.C., to receive the first JHE Production Group Scholarship.
The $1,000 tuition scholarship was established to help a current UTI NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) student continue their education path to pursue a motorsports career.
"JHE is proud to partner with the UTI Foundation to offer this scholarship to Paul," says Jay Howard, president of JHE Production Group. "Supporting students who demonstrate a passion for racing and a desire to make an impact in the motorsports industry aligns with our culture and mission, and we're proud to honor such an effort."
The scholarship was presented to Amico at the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman on May 14 at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.
“JHE shares UTI’s commitment to increase awareness of the many career opportunities in automotive sports including NASCAR,” says Veronica Meury, vice president and executive director of the UTI Foundation. “Their generosity will help individuals achieve their dream of becoming professional technicians in the motorsports industry.”
“The chance to work in the motorsports industry has been a goal of mine since I was a kid,” Amico adds. “This scholarship will help me learn the skills I need to be successful.”
