GENERAL MOTORS: 2006-08 Models with Heated Windshield Washer

SUBJECT: A recall has been launched to repair a wiring harness that may short circuit and, in extreme cases, cause an underhood fire. Not all models are involved, and the bulletin includes a complete listing by model and VIN. Also included are color photos and complete instructions for disabling the system to alleviate the hazard. Parts for repairing this problem should become available in November.

Campaign 08048 (Document ID 2185683)

FORD: 2003-05 Excursion, 2003 and later F- and E-series trucks with 6.0L Diesel engine

SUBJECT: Lower power, misfire, excessive smoke and/or no-start might be caused by low or negative fuel pressure that can easily be diagnosed as faulty fuel injectors. Under the right conditions, combustion gasses can enter the injector and travel through the fuel rail to other injectors, usually on the same bank. The bulletin includes a complete description of the problem and diagnostic instructions not in the normal service information system (but no repair instructions).

HONDA: 2006-07 Civic

SUBJECT: A squeaking water pump belt might indicate loose pulley bolts. On some vehicles, water pump pulley bolts have become loose enough for the pulley to loosen, causing a belt squeak and possibly even break. The bulletin includes a complete list of affected models by VIN. The repair kit (06193-RNA-305, H/C 9046491) includes a new water pump pulley and bolts.

Bulletin 08-039

VOLKSWAGEN: 2002-04 Golf with 2.8L (BDF) engine

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0420 and/or P0300 to 0306 indicate catalyst efficiency problems and misfires. Unless diagnostics reveals a real problem, the cause might be overly aggressive on-board diagnostics (OBDII) software. New PCM calibrations are available, and the bulletin has them listed and indexed by the old calibration number.

Bulletin 2018669

NISSAN: 2004-06 Titan, Armada

SUBJECT: A voluntary recall had been issued to repair A/C condenser fans that may catch fire. Water intrusion into the fan motor causes corrosion, increasing mechanical resistance and therefore electrical resistance, but not enough to blow the fuse. Eventually the motor overheats. As needed, Nissan will install a "thermal protector kit" or install a new motor.

Bulletin NTB08-068a

NISSAN: 2007-08 Sentra

SUBJECT: A voluntary recall campaign has been launched to repair/replace a leaking brake master cylinder. On some models, the master cylinder was manufactured out of specification. As a result, brake fluid might leak from the master cylinder. Nissan will inspect and, if necessary, install a new master cylinder at no cost to the owner.

Bulletin NTB08-067a

GENERAL MOTORS: 2007 Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with Reduced Engine Power displayed in the message center might be caused by the accelerator pedal position sensor. In many cases, the cause is corrosion at the sensor connector. A new sensor, 15847349, should be installed to correct the problem.

Bulletin 08-06-04-012B

GENERAL MOTORS: 2006-08 Impala

SUBJECT: Crank/no-start with a blown fuel pump fuse might be caused by wiring harness damage. Check the wiring harness under the rear seat for chafing. The damage is likely to occur in the gray wire (circuit 120) between connectors C200 and C405. The bulletin includes a color illustration showing the affected wire.
