“Team Envision” from the University of the Aftermarket’s recent Leadership 2.0 program has been selected to present its group project at the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS), held May 20-21 in Chicago.

The team will give a presentation on telematics, and comprises of Nataki Barnes (Federal-Mogul Corp.), JR Bishop (Federated Auto Parts), Jim Dykstra (Dykstra’s Auto Service), TJ Fontana (Tenneco) and Mike Harvey (Affinia).

Participants in Leadership 2.0 are grouped into teams, which then collaborate on an industry topic of their choosing. Teams work on their respective projects between sessions I and II, and present their findings to the entire class during the second session, recently held in Troy, Mich. The best group project, as judged by the entire class, is invited to present at GAAS.

“This is a unique opportunity for these future industry leaders to have center-stage at a marquee industry conference,” says University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank. “While all the groups worked very hard on their projects, Team Envision really stood out as having something important to say about a relevant and timely industry issue. I am sure GAAS attendees will enjoy their thought-provoking presentation.”

The University of the Aftermarket’s Leadership 2.0 is a two-part executive development and learning experience, deeply rooted in the theoretical and practical application of leadership principles in the automotive aftermarket.
