DENSO has appointed Yoshihiko Yamada as president of DENSO Sales California in Long Beach. Yamada had been president of DENSO International Thailand since 2005.

“The independent automotive aftermarket in North America is a dynamic and fast-growing market,” says Yamada. “This market presents unique opportunities and challenges for DENSO, and I look forward to successfully meeting them.”

Yamada has 30 years of experience with DENSO, and has held various management positions in Japan, Australia, Indonesia and Singapore, as well as his previous assignment in Thailand.

Yamada, who earned a bachelor’s degree in law in April 1977 from Nagoya University in Aichi prefecture, Japan, joined DENSO immediately following graduation.

His predecessor, Masaaki Adachi, president since January 2003, has moved on to an executive position at Japan-based Tsuchiya Co. Ltd., a DENSO supplier.
