RESOURCESiATN Rolls Out New Features

BREA, CA (Sept. 15, 2007) - Popular automotive Web site iATN will be rolling out several new features over the next couple months.  The first set of these features are detailed below. iATN says that the general theme of most of these improvements is to provide users with greater control over the use of its forums. These include: 1. Notification Control - Changes now give users more control over how they are notified of replies to their forum posts. When posting a new message or a reply, users will see a new option: Response Notifications, ON or OFF. (Defaults to ON.) If left on, users will receive a brief e-mail notification whenever someone replies to your forum message. No longer will users have to bookmark and manually track posts for replies, or rely on other members to include an e-mail response with their reply.  2. Message Updates - If a user posts a reply to their own message, the original message will highlight that the user has posted an UPDATE to it, with a link to read the update. The idea is that everyone reading it will very clearly see that new information is available since the original post was made. In the near future, a number of other features will be added. Members will be advised via e-mail when the rollouts occur. Planned changes include: 1. Saving, categorizing, tagging and categorizing favorite forum messages and other iATN documents into a new feature called "My iATN." Eventually the tagging will help everyone locate interesting documents that members have saved. 2. Allowing or preventing private e-mail responses to your posts. 3. Recommending great forum messages to others with the click of a button, as well as being able to view those messages that have been similarly recommended by your peers. 4. Deleting messages and members from your view of the forums. 5. Making it much easier to include waveforms and other files from your iATN File Library in your messages. 6. Providing an easy way to specify vehicle data for vehicle-related forum posts, such as those found in the Technical Discussion Forum. This information will make it much easier for those reading the technical forums to help each other. 7. General improvements in the look and feel of the forums, and of the entire members-only area in general.(Source: iATN)
