iATN Reaches Participation MilestonesBREA, CA - A little over 11 years ago, iATN had no idea hw much of a meeting place and industry force it would become. The Web was in its infancy, and email was the tried-and-true best method of exchanging information (and still plays a huge role for iATN today, through the TechHelp system).
Yet here in 2007, iATN has reached some significant milestones - just recently breaking the 1,000,000 forum message mark and also surpassing over 2,000,000 items in the entire iATN Knowledge Base, searchable by sponsoring members. The numbers are truly staggering! At the current rate of participation, iATN expects it could be celebrating again in half the time it has taken to reach this first milestone.
Although there are 20 forums today, it didn't start out that way. In June 1996, there were only three forums: Open Discussion, Technical Discussion, and Classifieds. By the end of October 1996, three more forums were added: Industry Events, PC Users Forum, and the Educators Forum. By the end of 1997, almost all of the remainder of today's forums had been added, including Tool & Equipment, A/C, iATN Sponsors, iATN Development, the first sponsored forum (Snap-On's Handheld Users Group which at the time focused solely on their Vantage tools), Technical Theory, Technical Tips, Transmission, Shop Management, Industry Issues, Emissions, HD/Fleet, and what is today known as the RPM Forum.
iATN appreciates its members having a good time together, and the role members play in meeting more and more often in the real world, via the iATN Meetings & Events Forum, which was initiated to help coordinate those get-togethers. The organization pledges to continue working to make it even easier members to help each other and benefit going forward.
