SEMA's Charity Functions DIAMOND BAR, CA - The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) will hold its annual Installation Banquet on July 27, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, CA. The event allows outgoing SEMA board members to be thanked and newly elected board members to be welcomed. In addition, the newest selections for the SEMA Hall of Fame are announced. Of note this year, however, is SEMA's announcement that it is including two charitable fundraising activities in conjunction with the traditional banquet. Proceeds from the two events - a charitable golf tournament and a silent auction - will be contributed to two organizations that have become favorites of SEMA-member companies.

The first, Childhelp, aids victims of child abuse and originally began receiving support from wheel manufacturers in 1994. It now garners significant contributions from a wide range of industry businesses under the auspices of Friends of Childhelp.

The more recently established Victory Junction Gang Camp was founded in 2004 by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam and has received support from the Light-Truck Accessory Alliance and others in the industry. Victory Junction uses camping experiences in its racing-themed facilities to enrich the lives of children who suffer from chronic medical conditions or illnesses. * Silent Auction - The Silent Auction is another way to contribute to the SEMA Gala Fundraiser. The Silent Auction features a multitude of one-of-a-kind collectibles and memorabilia. Proceeds from the auction benefit Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp. Items that have already been graciously donated include a two-night stay for two couples at the Cibolo Creek Ranch in Texas, passes to the Barrett-Jackson auction as well as four walk-on spots for the hit TV show Overhaulin'. Those wishing to donate items for the Silent Auction are asked do so online.* SEMA Charity Golf Tournament - The golf tournament is scheduled for July 27 at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, CA. Those interested can participate by becoming an event sponsor or by registering a team. You can elect to play on your council's team or you can form your own team.
