CALENDAR OF EVENTSIs It Your Time For Extensive, Hands-On Hybrid Service Training? WORCESTER, MA (Jan. 31, 2006) - Is the hybrid wave closing in on your shop? Is your business plan on high ground? More specifically, are your technicians on or ahead of the hybrid learning curve - ready for existing or new customers seeking quality service and repairs? A number of training consultants and firms offer training classes. But if you are an individual or shop owner seeking an extensive hands-on course, a training firm such as Automotive Career Development Center (ACDC) may be worth your time to look into. ACDC's four day course, with ACDA certification, provides technicians with the opportunity to drive, test, scan, service and take these hybrids apart - in a real world road and shop experience. The class provides access to lifts, equipment, and hands-on time to carefully and safely remove and handle the battery packs, inverters, cables, converters, and other hybrid vehicle technology, says ACDC. Small groups of four each have a car to learn on - a different model on each of two days. And central to the program are "teachable moments" - times when each group will present learning everyone can use. The program isn't for everyone. And not everyone who wants it meets the pre-course qualifying screening criteria of owner Craig Van Batenburg. But if more than a classroom is important to you, more information is available online at
