Sherwin-Williams announces 2012 first-quarter training schedule

Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes' 2012 first quarter training sessions are designed for collision repair industry professionals seeking advancement and increased knowledge in their field. Courses will be offered Jan. 9 through March 30, 2012.
Sherwin- Williams Automotive Finishes' 2012 first quarter training sessions are designed for collision repair industry professionals seeking advancement and increased knowledge in their field. Courses will be offered Jan. 9 through March 30, 2012.

Shop owners, managers and painters can learn intensive business-building, production- excellence and application techniques through classroom, web and hands-on settings at numerous metropolitan Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes training centers located nationwide.

The following courses will be conducted in the first quarter including:

  • Estimating solutions for profit
  • Painter certification
  • Color adjustment and blending
  • AWX® waterborne systems
According to Rod Habel, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Manager of Training Operations, many of the new classes directly relate to Sherwin-Williams’ philosophy of helping its customers through ‘lean thinking’ – introducing concepts that support sustainable practices – which increases productivity while minimizing or often eliminating waste.

In particular is available training on the company’s fast-drying, easy to mix and apply AWX waterborne system. It provides excellent color match, quick flash times between coats and doesn’t require a baking cycle.

Along with its productivity, application and certification classes, Habel notes that Sherwin- Williams will now be offering several classes available to the industry’s Spanish speaking technicians.
