With more than 115 of its leading estimators and managers attending The University of Toyota "Estimating Solutions for Profit" classes last year, the company recently announced its continued relationship with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes to offer the program as part of Toyota's Estimator Certification Program.
"Estimating Solutions for Profit" is a seven-hour, hands-on workshop that provides estimators with the techniques, skills, and information necessary to write more profitable estimates. The class comprises real world estimating scenarios and industry-specific issues pertaining to body shop operations and insurance company relations.
"The 'Estimating Solutions for Profit' class vastly improved the way our estimators approach the repair process--it focuses on the customer but never lets us lose sight of making money and improving profitability," says Jeff Debner, Collision Center Director of Fred Haas Toyota in Houston. "We have seen significant improvement in dollars per repair order by our estimators as they now focus on the traditional 'non-included items.'It also reinforces good, everyday estimating practices and provides another avenue to add revenue to each estimate."
The class is one of the industry's recognized training courses. It is approved and accredited by the Automotive Management Institute and offers 12 credits toward AMI's diploma program.
