ST. CHARLES, Ill. — Select Tech Professional Services has received approval from the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) to award AMI credits to participants who complete the online Executive Book Study Series of management books like Michael Gerber’s “The E-Myth Revisited” and Carl Sewell’s “Customers For Life.” AMI is a provider of management education for the automotive service and collision repair industry, and AMI credits earned are applied toward the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. “AMI’s stamp of approval is significant recognition of the importance of the study of these best-selling management books that are so applicable to running an automotive repair business in today’s challenging environment,” says Kyle Claypool, vice president of Select Tech. “We have been conducting these online studies for the past six months and have received great reviews. Now, with the ability to earn AMI credits toward your AAM, we feel many more will join us in studying what these books can do for automotive business owners and managers.” Select Tech’s Executive Book Study Series leads participants through a weekly chapter-by-chapter review of either “The E-Myth” or “Customers For Life,” complete with points to ponder prior to reading each chapter and study questions and activities to complete after each chapter. Participants have access to an online forum where they and their peers can discuss the study questions as a group and raise other issues to be considered as well. There are also two online meetings and conference calls where participants can discuss the opportunities these books bring to light. Upon completion of the studies, “Commitments to Actions” (CTAs) are established with each participant. Weeks later Select Tech follows up with participants to see if they are following through on their CTA’s. The next study begins March 10 and another is scheduled for April 21st, with additional studies to be scheduled on a regular basis. More books will be added to the series as well.
