SANTA ANA, Calif. – Advanstar Communications — a leading provider of integrated media solutions to the automotive aftermarket, off-road, and powersports industries — announces new editors for Aftermarket Business and Motor Age magazines.

Ron Rajecki is the new senior editor of Aftermarket Business, while Chris Miller and Tschanen Niederkohr move from the staff of Aftermarket Business to become senior editor and managing editor, respectively, of Motor Age. Rajecki and Miller will report to Larry Silvey, who is editor-in-chief of both publications and group editorial director for Advanstar Automotive.

“All three of these individuals bring a strong a work ethic and editorial skills to their respective positions,” says Silvey. “I am fortunate to have a strong team in place that will help me provide great content for our readers.”

Rajecki returns to Advanstar from Penton Media in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as senior editor of Contracting Business magazine from 1994 to 2007. Previously at Advanstar he was managing editor of Modern Medicine and has over 20 years of trade publishing experience. He has received several awards, including a Jesse H. Neal certificate for business-to-business writing. The Jesse H. Neal Awards, which have been called “the Pulitzer Prize of the business media,” are the industry’s most prestigious and sought-after editorial honors. A native of Cleveland, Rajecki graduated from Cleveland State University. A long time “car guy,” over the years he’s owned a 1967 Cougar XR-7, a 1969 Lemans, a 1973 Cutlass Supreme and 1977 Grand Prix.

Miller has worked in publishing for 10 years with a number of newspapers and magazines. Beginning his career with newspaper reporting and editing, Miller worked his way up at Aftermarket Business from associate editor to senior editor, before joining Motor Age. During his time at Advanstar, he has excelled at news analysis and feature pieces. Miller is a long-time jazz musician and published poet and lives in Akron, Ohio.

Niederkohr joined Aftermarket Business in 2006 as associate editor. Before joining the Advanstar Automotive Group, she was a copy editor at The Morning Journal in Lorain, Ohio, and had been the city editor for The Daily Chief-Union in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Niederkohr is a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, with a degree in journalism.
