Untitled DocumentHOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — The Broward County Florida I-CARVolunteer Committee raised over $12,000 in support of the I-CAR Education Foundation $100 per Collision Repair Facility per Year campaign at a fundraiser at the Marriott North in Fort Lauderdale last month. In an effort to raise funds and bring together students and industry professionals, the committee invited the local industry to attend a fundraiser and sponsor a student’s attendance. As a result, 50 students from local career and technical schools and colleges attended the event.
“The evening was an opportunity for students to learn from professionals working in their fields,” said Purvis O’Brien, I-CAR Volunteer Committee member, event co-organizer, and emcee. “Also, because students were able to talk directly with industry professionals, it provided an opportunity for recruitment of entry-level employees.”
