May 8, 2012

May 8, 2012—AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings Americas on Monday announced the three U.S. companies that have been selected to receive its third annual FIT Sustainability award.

AkzoNobel said its FIT Sustainability award, which debuted in 2009, is an industry recognition program designed to honor businesses and organizations engaged in practices that advance the concepts of sustainability through three key principles: focus, innovation and talent.

Winners of the 2012 FIT Sustainability award include:

• Oka’s Auto Body in Waipahu, Hawaii
• Keenan Auto Body in Clifton Heights, Pa.
• Enterprise-Rent-A-Car in St. Louis

“Corporate sustainability is at its core, a long-term commitment to implementing business practices that meet today’s needs for profitability, personnel development and environmental stewardship; yet at the same time keeps a focused eye on the impact these decisions will have on the future,” said Mike Shesterkin, director of sustainability and new business innovations for AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings Americas. “The 2012 winners of the FIT Sustainability award have all taken different approaches to achieving this goal, but collectively share in the passion and pursuit of global sustainability, with leadership that has paved the way for others to follow.”

The 2012 FIT Sustainability award winners will be honored during a special industry recognition program scheduled for July 19 at the San Antonio Convention Center in San Antonio. The event will be held in conjunction with the July I-CAR Industry Event and Collision Industry Conference (CIC) meeting.
