A "Spot The Retreads" competition is once
again coming to the Feb. 20-23 Technology &
Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting &
Exhibition in Tampa, Fla.
Presented by the Tire Retread & Repair
Information Bureau (TRIB), visitors to the
organization’s booth No. 1039 will be able to
get hands-on with a selection of new and
retreaded tires to see if they can tell the
difference.
Contestants who correctly identify all the
tires will be entered into a drawing to win a
Tire Industry Association (TIA) Fleet Tire
Service OSHA Compliance Training Program worth
$300.
“We had a great time with this competition at
TMC Supertech in the fall, and only 17 percent
of exhibition participants were able to
correctly identify all the tires,” recounts
TRIB managing director David Stevens.
“We’ll see if the group attending the annual
meeting fare any better,” he adds, “as these
tires are a real testament to the continually
improving engineering and manufacturing
process for retreaded tires.”
Stevens notes that the ongoing performance and
value-added aspects of retreads “reinforces
how they should be a part of any fleet’s
overall tire program.”
