Michelin has won two 2011 "Top 100" awards from Construction Equipment magazine for its XDR2 and XHA2 earthmover tires.
Michelin has won two 2011 “Top 100” awards from Construction Equipment magazine for its XDR2 and XHA2 earthmover tires.

“Construction Equipment is a well- respected, top publication in the construction industry,” says Bruce Besancon, director of marketing for Michelin Earthmover Tires. “Recognizing the XDR2 and XHA2 tires with these awards affirms the value that these tires provide to the end user.”

According the publication, the awards bring special attention to the most significant products each year and emphasize innovations, highlighting manufacturers that are investing in research and development.

The winners were chosen by the magazine from several hundred product introductions, drawing on input from readers and the editorial staff’s experience with equipment technology and the equipment marketplace.

The XDR2 haul truck tire offers up to 20 percent more tread life than its XDR predecessor. Introduced at CONEXPO- CON/AGG last March, the XDR2 is available in a 27R49 size. Additional sizes are to be released this year.

Besancon says the XHA2 loader tire is designed to accomplish three goals: “Reduce hourly operating costs, ensure that work continues smoothly and safely, and improve operator working conditions.” Intended for loaders in quarries, cement plants and on construction worksites, it is available in 20.5R25, 23.5R25, 26.5R25 and 29.5R25 sizes.
