Sumitomo's HTR A/S P01 rated as Consumers Digest 'Best Buy'

An all-season car tire from Sumitomo has received a “Best Buy” designation from Consumers Digest magazine.

The Best Buys were selected by the publication based on performance, features, expected treadlife and warranty.

The HTR A/S P01 was selected as a Best Buy in the economy Touring Car Tire category because it is “a remarkable value among tires that are in this price range. We found that it generates less noise and delivers better comfort, grip, handling and winter traction than do models that cost $25 more,” the magazine’s editors report.

“It is our goal to provide consumers with the best value without sacrificing quality, comfort or control,” says Richard Purol, vice president of TBC Wholesale, which distributes and retails the tire maker’s offerings. Purol adds that the honor “emphasizes that commitment.”

The HTR A/S line, which has a 65,000 or 40,000 mile limited treadwear warranty depending on the fitment, has 58 sizes in 14- to 18-inch diameters and H/ V/W speed ratings to fit a broad range of touring coupes and sedans.
