Cessna, the world's largest general aviation aircraft manufacturer, and Michelin, Cessna's long-time business jet tire supplier, have expanded a recent agreement to include tires for piston-engine planes.

Of interest to tire dealers serving the pilot/airport marketplace, nearly all of Cessna’s piston-driven planes, plus a majority of Citation business jets, will now be fitted with Michelin’s tires.

In August of last year, Michelin signed a contract to produce original equipment tires for Cessna’s piston and jet planes, becoming the aviation manufacturer’s leading tire supplier.

“The five-year contract further strengthened the strong relationship that has existed between Michelin and Cessna for many years,” says the tire maker, adding that “to meet the demands of the largest general aviation aircraft manufacturer, Michelin developed a solution that offered the most effective combination of quality, weight and technological features.”
