Having recently won its third annual award for its ability to produce satisfied customers, Atlantic Tire & Service – which has three shops in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region – is conducting the second of a three-part series of car care clinics on Sept. 22 at its Cary location.

Running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the clinic will instruct teenagers and other younger drivers on how to maintain their vehicle on a day-to-day basis and what to do in an emergency situation.

Topics to be covered include how to make your car last longer, how and when to check fluids, the proper way to jump-start a battery, how to check tire air pressure and the tread, how to change a tire and basic safe driving habits.

Offered as a free service, attendees will receive a take-home bag that includes oil change coupons, digital tire pressure gauges and other gifts. Prize drawings will include an iPod and iTunes gift cards. The evening will also include light snacks and refreshments.

“It’s really critical for teens and young drivers to have the confidence and know-how to feel comfortable behind the wheel of their vehicles,” says owner Anthony Blackman. “We at Atlantic Tire are excited to present this opportunity to teen drivers because we know how important it is for teens to learn the basics early.”

Established in 1998 by Blackman as a single shop in Cary, in 2005 the company expanded into Durham in 2005. A Raleigh location was opened last year.

Atlantic was recently selected by readers of the Cary News as the “Best Place for Automotive Repair” in Western Wake County. It has won the annual award on two other occasions as well.

“We are honored to have yet again been chosen by the community as the best place for automotive repair,” says Blackman. “Atlantic Tire is dedicated to serving our customers and providing the highest-quality automotive care and customer service in the Triangle. We look forward to continuing to build relationships with each of our customers and serving the community we are so proud to be a part of.”

The operation has been saluted by the Cary Chamber of Commerce for its “commitment to give back to the community” and as the organization’s “Employer of the Year” in 2010 for Blackman’s “exemplary work environment and benefits for employees.” It has also clinched Cary Magazine’s “Best Mechanic” in Western Wake County award for the past three years in a row.

Atlantic offers online appointment scheduling, same-day repairs, free shuttle service, free pickup and delivery plus ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified Master Technicians and TIA (Tire Industry Association) Certified Tire Technicians.

In addition to marketing a wide selection of tires, services include nitrogen tire inflation, tire rotation and balancing, flat tire repairs, oil changes, computerized wheel alignment, disc and drum brake service, air conditioning service, routine maintenance and tune-ups, radiator service and state inspections.
