A partnership that includes Bob Woodman of Bob Woodman Tires in Beaufort, S.C. – Woodman & Auer Motorsports – has reached a franchise agreement with Hooked on Driving (HOD) to provide road course motoring instruction.

“The southern states we will service are a key market for Hooked on Driving,” says Woodman & Auer co-founder David Auer. “We will provide state-of-the-art programs for drivers looking to fine- tune their skills behind the wheel of their own cars on some of the country’s best race tracks.”

HOD offers enthusiasts one-on-one in-car coaching and the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of road course driving, refine their skills and explore the performance potential of their own vehicles without the pressure of racing, says HOD founder David Ray.

Woodman & Auer will provide expert coaches from Virginia to Alabama at tracks such as Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, Virginia International Raceway, Carolina Motorsports Park and Barber Motorsports Park.

“They join a group of leading professionals to expand our U.S. service area in several key states and bring significant international business and motorsports expertise to HOD,” Ray says. “The southern states are huge for us.”

The new partnership is the fifth major region covered by HOD, including Florida, the Great Lakes, Northern California, the Northeast, Florida and now other areas of the South.

“With the success our Florida franchise experienced last year, we know there are great things to come from Woodman & Auer Motorsports in our newest region,” says Ray.

HOD recommends Pirelli tires, and Bob Woodman Tires was the first to carry Pirelli’s DOT-approved P Zero Trofeo track tire.

Bob Woodman has an extensive background in motorsports as both a driver and supplier. His company is a racing tire sales and service provider assisting teams and drivers at nearly 50 races per year.

Woodman’s racing career included podium finishes at Petite Le Mans at Road Atlanta, and he has competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona and other top events.

Partner and co-founder Auer was a competitive ski-racer for 18 years and made a career in the Alpine ski business. Most recently he was CEO at Fischer Skis. Auer raced Formula Fords and Formula 2000 Reynards before moving to SCCA Spec Racer Fords. He holds his National Competition license and has a number of SCCA podium finishes to his credit.
