The two transactions are expected to significantly strengthen ATD’s market position in the Northwest, according to William “Bill” Berry, president and CEO.
Lisac’s operated distribution centers in Portland, Ore., and Spokane, Wash. to serve more than 1,400 customers in Montana, Washington, Oregon, and northern Idaho. A Tire Wholesalers distribution center in Kent, Wash., covered more than 750 customers in western Washington.
“Lisac’s and Tire Wholesalers have both developed solid distribution businesses in their respective markets,” says Berry. “ATD looks forward to building on their records of success by offering an unmatched breadth and depth of product, a strong offering of dealer marketing programs and unsurpassed customer service.”
The company is moving forward with plans to open a 126,000- square-foot distribution center in the Seattle area early next year.
It currently has 86 distribution centers serving 39 states. Berry reports that ATD focuses on helping tire and wheel dealers compete with larger retailers “by offering the most complete, coast-to-coast selection of tires, wheels and related products and value-added services.”Established in 1935, ATD has grown to more than 2,500 employees across its nationwide distribution network, including 250 people in its Charlotte, N.C.-area field support center, distribution center and regional hub.
