Continental’s tires will be getting a workout at Homestead Miami Speedway as driver Dion von Moltke unofficially opens the 2011 Grand-Am Rolex Series by testing the Daytona Prototype Doran Racing Ford/Dallara and the GT class Mitchum Motorsports Porsche.

“It will be nice to be back in Doran’s first-class team and help him find the best setup on the new Continental tires,” von Moltke reports.

“Mitchum Motorsports has given me great support this past year, and I really enjoy working with the team. I’m happy they are displaying the confidence in me and my abilities to assist the team’s Rolex 24 efforts with their Porsche,” he adds.

“I’m excited for the team to be moving up from the Continental Tire Series and can’t wait to see their continued progress,” von Moltke notes.

“Dion has a good understanding of the car, now having a full season of DP under his belt, so we’re expecting he’ll be able to give us the feedback we need on the new tires to be ready for the upcoming season,” says Kevin Doran of Doran Racing. “He’s a great communicator and I know he’ll be an asset in getting the other guys up to pace quickly.”

Von Moltke has competed successfully in every level of Grand-Am circuit, including last season’s three wins in the Continental Tire Challenge Series, according to Doran.

“We are excited to work with Dion again. The level of professionalism and raw speed that he brings to the table is a real asset to maximize our testing objectives,” says Chris Mitchum of Mitchum Racing.
