Two Telly Awards have been won by the Tire Industry Association (TIA) for its video produced for the newly updated Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Program.

One of the honors was in the category of “How-To/Instructional.” The other award was in the “Automotive/Vehicle” category.

This brings the TIA’s Telly total to three, as the organization’s Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) Program was awarded a Telly last year for its use of animation.

The Telly Awards honor the best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs in addition to video/film productions and work created for the Internet.

Fellow winners in this year include AOL Media, the Discovery Channel, ESPN, Hewlett-Packard, Lockheed Martin, State Farm Insurance and The Weather Channel.

“By converting to an all-digital, high-definition format, we are creating programs that require a lot more work up front, but the payoff is that they can be easily updated in the future at a fraction of the cost,” says Kevin Rohlwing, the TIA’s senior vice president of training.

Rohlwing went on to say, “The new production model also makes it easier for members with computer-based-learning programs to purchase the rights to the material and integrate it into their employee training management system,” he points out.

“The added bonus is that it gives us a huge head-start in creating TIA’s online training portal, so everyone can have access to our award-winning materials,” Rohlwing adds.

“Production value is extremely important, and these awards definitely reflect the investment that we’ve made in our training videos,” notes TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. “To have TIA mentioned with other household names like Discovery Channel and State Farm Insurance is further evidence that TIA is committed to being a leading authority in the industry.”
