For heavy trucks that work mostly off-road in soft-ground conditions such as sand and snow, Michelin is mobilizing a new edition of its XZL2 tire for both commercial use and armed forces applications.
Introduced at the Eurosatory military vehicle show in Paris, the XZL2 features a redesigned tread pattern that offers greater speed capabilities and improved tread life over a wide range of terrains, according to Jim Griese, director of military products for Michelin North America.
“Whether you’re driving a tactical military vehicle in Afghanistan or a snow plow in Minnesota, the XZL2 tire will exceed expectations in terms of speed capability and mileage,” Griese says.
“This tire incorporates the best features of our popular XZL tire and delivers the enhanced performance that our customers need,” he reports.
Available in size 395/85R20, lower ground contact pressure delivers performance “without sacrificing the off-road capabilities and toughness for the world’s most demanding applications.”
