SmartWay grants fuel-saving nod to two Continental tires

Two additional truck tires from Continental have been added to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency?s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership program.

Two additional truck tires from Continental have been added to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership program.

The HSL2 Eco Plus (Heavy Steer Long-Haul) and HDL2 Eco Plus (Heavy Drive Long-Haul) in size 295/60R22.5 were recently verified by SmartWay as low rolling resistance tires meeting the EPA’s fuel-saving standards.

Although the two new entries are three inches shorter than the 275/80R22.5 size, each has 1,215 more pounds of additional carrying capacity for load range G, according to the company.
