Cooper to expand Ohio plant and launch several new tires next year

Cooper?s tire factory in Findlay, Ohio, will be adding production capacity with an additional $10 million investment in automation, cost improvements and retooling. Up to 100 people will be hired to staff new positions.

Cooper’s tire factory in Findlay, Ohio, will be adding production capacity with an additional $10 million investment in automation, cost improvements and retooling. Up to 100 people will be hired to staff new positions.

The company also plans to launch several new light truck, SUV and premium winter tires in the coming year.

“Taken together, this expansion demonstrates the strong impact Findlay has on the company’s strategic objectives of creating a sustainable, competitive cost position, achieving top-line profitable growth and building our organizational capabilities,” says Cooper Vice President John Bodart.

The company has previously embarked upon capacity increases and expansions at its plants in Texarkana, Ark., and Tupelo, Miss. along with a joint venture in Guadalajara, Mexico plus a Cooper/Kenda initiative in Kunshan, China.
