Kumho has opened a new regional warehouse in South Brunswick, N.J. The facility will store up to 225,000 tires and serve as a support center for distribution and dealer relations in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Eastern New York and Pennsylvania.
“Kumho Tires is committed to meeting the distribution, inventory and sales needs of our dealer partners,” says Dr. Sae-chul Oh, president and CEO.
“The opening of our 150,000 square-foot facility supports our aggressive growth strategy to become one of the top five global tire makers,” he adds.
“On-going expansion of our manufacturing and R&D facilities worldwide — and our continued efforts to strengthen our positions in the OE and replacement tire markets — has established a foundation for Kumho Tires to become the fifth-largest tire company by 2015. The business partnerships and corporate capabilities that Kumho continues to develop will make that goal a reality,” Oh notes.

The firm markets its tire lines in more than 160 nations.

Established in 1960, Kumho Tire Co., Inc. is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea with plants in Korea and China along with technical centers in Birmingham, England and Akron, Ohio. Kumho Tire U.S.A was founded in 1975 and is based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. In addition to the 830,000 square foot Rancho Cucamonga headquarters and central distribution facility, the company operates has four other distribution centers in Atlanta; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio and Dallas.
