Sept. 24, 2015

Sept. 24, 2015—PPG Industries restored normal operations at its Fresno, Calif., glass manufacturing facility and lifted the force majeure on architectural, residential and specialty glass products for customers in the western U.S. and Canada, the company announced on Wednesday.

PPG also made the announcement that it plans to invest $20 million in upgrades for the Fresno facility beginning in January 2016. The upgrades include rebuilding the glass tank and enhancing other manufacturing equipment at the plant.

“We are pleased today to resume production at the Fresno facility and look forward to once again supplying our flat glass to meet customer demand in the western U.S. and western Canada," said Richard Beuke, PPG vice president, flat glass. “As we look ahead, our planned investments at the Fresno facility will help to further enhance our production capabilities to meet our customers’ needs in the future.”
