Hunter Engineering Releases Updates for HawkEye XL Commercial Aligner System
Hunter Engineering revealed four enhancements to the HawkEye XL Commercial Alignment System in a news release.
The aligner uses long-range camera technology to obtain measurements in four minutes or less for trucks, trailers, buses, and more. The XL handles heavy-duty, medium-duty, light-duty, and passenger vehicles.
The new enhancements include:
- Magnetic wheel adapters: The new magnetic adapters can attach to the lugnuts in a matter of seconds. In addition to speed, the adapters provide increased wheel protection, with no metal spades to get between the rim and tire. The adapters are available as an option for new and existing HawkEye XL aligners.
- Drive-thru sensor configuration: The new configuration will allow drive-thru shops and OEM production to skip repositioning their equipment for each alignment, saving time and effort. The sensors offer the same long-range vision and field of view, with up to 16-foot-wide tower spacing to accommodate commercial vehicles.
- New WinAlign software: Hunter’s latest WinAlign 18.3 software offers new target placement guidance to help the technician, aligner placement guidance so the cameras can easily see all the wheel targets, and the flexibility to perform thrustline and frame-reference alignments as desired.
- Latest-generation alignment cart: Technicians can store adapters and control the alignment system from the rear of the vehicles, saving steps and time. The cart is completely untethered with a battery backup, allowing a full day’s work without carrying a cable around the shop.
