Founded by the late Paul J. Kruder in 1971,
CIMS
has been the industry leader in enabling tire dealers
to efficiently register motorists’ replacement tires –
a federal mandate enforced by the
National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA), according to Susan Kruder,
Paul’s widow and current CIMS president.
“Because tire registration is a federal law, we help
our clients comply with the regulations, but also we
give them a valuable sales tool that helps to
punctuate to their customers their commitment to
safety,” she says.
“In addition, we are just extending the legacy of
Paul, who was a well-known tire industry businessman
for more than half a century,” Susan Kruder points
out.
“Paul was so proud of the company and the progress it
had made,” she says. “There aren’t many companies who
can say that they have not only been in business for
40 years, but also have been the industry leader for
that period of time, too.”
Based in Akron, Ohio, the company has commissioned a
new logo design from area advertising firm Bark at the
Moon, plus it is planning a formal commemoration
toward the end of the year to recognize its longevity
in the tire industry.
