Boyd Group acquires Florida shop

July 12, 2012—The Boyd Group Inc. on Wednesday announced the opening of a new collision repair center in Orlando, Fla.

The Boyd Group’s new shop location, previously known as K & J Customs, will operate under the Gerber Collision & Glass trade name.

The 17,500-square-foot facility is the Boyd Group’s 10th shop in Florida. The company now operates 149 locations throughout the U.S.

"We entered the Orlando market in early June 2012, to introduce the Gerber Collision brand to an attractive new market," said Tim O'Day, president and chief operating officer of the Boyd Group's U.S. operations. "Now with our second acquisition in the city, we continue our effort to strengthen our presence in Florida."
