AASP-MN held its annual Race for Automotive Education in an effort to raise money for area automotive programs at technical schools.
Jan. 12, 2017—On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) held its annual Race for Automotive Education in an effort to raise money for area automotive programs at technical schools.
Several Minneapolis-area body shops—including LaMettry's Collision, Inc., ABRA Auto Body & Glass, Heppner's Auto Body, Hopkins Auto Body, Lake Marion Collision, and Pearson Auto Body—each made a donation to the AASP-MN Automotive Education Fund to race for 200 laps at the ProKart Indoor Racing in Burnsville, Minn.
Judell Anderson, executive director of AASP-MN, expected the Race for Automotive Education to raise over $7,500. A majority of that money will fund scholarships for students enrolled in NATEF- certified automotive programs (collision or mechanical) in the state of Minnesota. Scholarship awards will distributed in the fall of 2017.
