Nov. 21, 2019—While workers were thrilled to be hired at the Fremont, Calif., Tesla factory, hundreds have been sidelined over the years due to injuries, reported ABC7.
According to the report, since Tesla was focused on putting in a line of robotics to work on the cars and not on people, there was no planning for a production system. As a result, employees have suffered a myriad of back, hand and arm strains, bruises, lacerations, punctures, fractures, and burns.
A Forbes analysis from March found that Tesla's fines for safety violations the past five years surpassed ten other major US auto plants combined -- 54 OSHA violations compared to 18, and $236,000 in fines for Tesla, to just $89,000 at the other plants.
