Jan.. 9, 2019—Volvo Car USA is set to be the first automaker to use CCC Accident Advisor to aid drivers following an accident.

According to a company press release, there are more than 13 million auto accidents each year in the U.S., and many of them leave drivers feeling confused and uncertain in their aftermath. Because of that, on Tuesday at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, CCC Information Services introduced its new mobile solution.

The new mobile product provides OEMs and other connected service providers with a way to guide their customers in the wake of accidents. CCC Accident Advisor combines emergency services and checklists, guided accident documentation and digital claims and repair services to keep drivers safe, informed and in control in the minutes following an auto accident.

The product works like this: for participating telematics-enabled vehicles, crash data is transmitted to automakers in real time. CCC, through its CCC X data exchange, then converts that data into actionable insights so automakers can proactively connect with their vehicle owners via their smartphones.

Accident Advisor will allow automakers to guide their customers through the steps following an accident and digitally connect them with participating insurers and collision repairers.
