The 2020 Kia Telluride recently qualified for a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
July 23, 2019—The 2020 Kia Telluride, a new midsize SUV, has qualified for a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with specific headlights.
The Telluride, which was introduced for the 2020 model year, earns good ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations.
The SUV avoided collisions in IIHS track tests at 12 and 25 mph. It has a forward collision warning component that meets the criteria set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Telluride's optional LED headlights, available on the SX trim, earn an acceptable rating in IIHS tests. The low beams did a good job of lighting the road in all test scenarios, but they created some glare.
