NABC Donates Vehicle to Los Angeles Veteran

The National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program recently presented Mahogany Zachery, a Los Angeles veteran, with reliable transportation.

The National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program recently presented a Los Angeles veteran with reliable transportation, according to a press release.

Mahogany Zachery was nominated by Hollywood Post 43, The American Legion, to receive a 2020 Honda Accord donated by Allstate and restored by Waters Auto Body.

Zachery has been a member of the Hollywood Post 43 for six years, serving on several committees and as a volunteer. She currently does not have a functioning vehicle, making it difficult to get to routine VA hospital appointments and volunteer work at the American Legion Post 43.

Zachery is a writer and actor and has received various job offers, but is unable to accept them due to not having a means of getting there reliably.

Upon receiving her vehicle after the August 23 presentation at the Hollywood Post 43, American Legion, a burden has been lifted from Zachery’s shoulders.

“Today is probably one of the best days of my life,” said Zachery. “I have had so many issues with transportation and trying to get around. I am so thankful for this car and it means so much to me.”
