Mitchell 1 Announces 2023 Automotive Technology Outstanding Student
According to a press release, Mitchell 1 has named Jack Fowler of Mount Vernon, Ohio, as this year’s Automotive Technology Outstanding Student.
The title is given each year to a U.S. or Canadian student that has demonstrated exceptional work in automotive technology and auto shop repair scholastics.
Fowler won first place at the 2022 SkillsUSA Automotive Service Technology in the Southeast Ohio region before going on to win seventh place statewide.
He has also earned ASE entry-level certifications in several areas, including electrical/electronic systems, manual drive train and axles, brakes, engine performance, and much more.
Having recently graduated from high school, Fowler is enrolled to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio’s College of Applied Technologies’ automotive department in fall 2023, where he aims to gain a degree in automotive high-performance technology.
Fowler credits his father, who owned an automotive machine shop, and his mother, who encouraged him to participate in groups such as the 4-H Lego Robotics Club, with helping him find his calling.
“I’d like to thank both of my parents for supporting my career path,” said Fowler. “My goal is to own a repair shop, and in the future, start a manufacturing operation in the automotive aftermarket industry.”
