According to a press release, the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program has donated vehicles to two veterans in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The two vehicles, a 2020 Hyundai Kia and a 2017 Honda Pilot EX, were donated by Allstate and Farmers and restored by Connan’s Paint and Body Shop and Andy Mohr Collision Center.
The vehicles were gifted to the recipients at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis on July 18 as part of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC). The recipients were chosen by Helping Veterans and Families of Indiana.
The Hyundai was given to John Brewer, a U.S. Army veteran that served in Korea from 1983 through 1986 before being honorably discharged. He is a single father that has had to rely on the Indianapolis bus system to get where he needs to go.
The Honda went to Anthony Johnson, a U.S. Navy Veteran. Johnson served on the USS America as an E3 from 1980 through 1983. Six years ago, he received a hip replacement which led to an infection in his left leg and requires him to use a wheelchair now.
