On top of several other lawsuits, Tesla now faces a suit claiming they have a monopoly over parts and service on their vehicles, Yahoo News reports.
One Model S owner is suing the automaker due to claims of having “exorbitant repair costs” and “long wait times for service.” The lawsuit is currently seeking class-action status at a federal court in San Francisco.
The plaintiff claimed that Tesla “has monopolized the parts and service aspects of the business” by forcing owners of their vehicles to only have them serviced at Tesla-approved centers and requiring the vehicles to be repaired with Tesla parts.
As a result, the suit claimed, Tesla has manipulated the service and parts side and caused higher prices and longer wait times.
This is not the only lawsuit Tesla currently faces, as they currently face a suit over their autopilot and full-self-driving vehicles, as well as a suit aimed at the Tesla board and CEO Elon Musk for giving himself an “exorbitant pay package.”
