BASF's SEMA booth to feature stars, customized cars

Oct. 24, 2011–-BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions will exhibit customized cars with waterborne and customer color technology at SEMA next week.

They’ll be at booth 21458, showing Glasurit and R-M waterborne paint systems on vehicles. Television personality and automotive designer Chip Foose will be showing his 1957 Mercedes 300SL “Gullwing” on Nov. 1 at 3:10 p.m. Foose will also launch 12 signature colors he designed for BASF. He’ll be signing autographs Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

That same day at 3 p.m., BASF plans to unveil a 1970 Camaro restoration by the Ringbrothers. It was painted using the BASF Glasurit 90-Line waterborne system. Bill Goldberg, former WCW and WWE wrestler and host of DIY Network television show "Garage Mahal," will be there for the unveiling. The Ringbrothers plan to make an appearance on Nov. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

BASF will also feature two Mustangs at its SEMA booth. They include the Darryl Gwynn Mustang built by West Coast Customs and featured on Inside West Coast Customs on Sept. 11. The other Mustang is one built by Petty’s Garage. They were each painted with BASF’s R-M Onyx HD waterborne system. Ryan Friedlinghaus, owner and CEO of West Coast Customs and star of "Inside West Coast Customs" will be at the BASF booth Nov. 3 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Richard Petty will also stop by to greet people.

The company will also promote its launch of R-M Carizzma Waterborne colors at SEMA. It also plans to talk with customers about tools like VisionPlus Business Solutions and VisionPlus Online Dashboard.
