Ohio Technical College promotes new director of its high performance and racing program

May 27, 2011

May 27, 2011 Steve McBride has been promoted to director of high performance and racing at Ohio Technical College (OTC), the college announced Thursday.

McBride will direct students who aim to become high performance racing team technicians or performance shop owners.

"In the future, racing will involve learning how to incorporate today's technology into tomorrow's technology. For instance, NASCAR is headed to using fuel injection with an ethanol fuel, and our students have opportunities to practice pit stops on NASCAR high performance vehicles at the OTC facility," said McBride.

McBride is a fourth-generation Ford technician and he spent 17 years at various Ford dealerships. He also worked at a Rolls Royce restoration shop for three years. McBride looks forward to bringing the program into the "tuner" generation.
