SATA donates more than $10,000 in equipment to schools

March 30, 2011

March 30, 2011 — Spray equipment company SATA recently donated $10,000 in equipment to five schools through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

Each of the schools applied for the foundation’s 2010 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant and specifically requested SATA equipment.

The schools are:

Botetourt Technical Education Center, Fincastle, Va.;
Golden Isles Career Academy, Brunswick, Ga.;
Kishwaukee College, Malta, Ill.;
Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, Fitchburg, Mass.;
Sandhills Community College, Pinehurst, N.C.

“Without SATA’s generous donation we would not have been able to start spraying waterbased basecoat at our training facility,” said Yoy McDowell, a collision repair instructor at Golden Isles Career Academy. “In the present economy, budget cuts have been deep and this donation is a huge help for us. I would like to thank SATA on behalf of my students.”

Knud Jorgensen, president of Dan-Am SATA, said the contribution provides students with the latest technology in spray equipment, which should help them in their journey toward becoming professional technicians. Scott Kruger, the foundation’s executive director, agreed.

“It is through the support of companies such as SATA that the industry will be able to provide the future professionals of the industry with the best education possible and in turn have them be proficient and capable members of the industry from day one on the job,” Kruger said.
