The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced it will host a new Service Information Workshop in Fort Collins, Colo. The free workshop will be held Oct. 22, at the LaQuinta Inn in Fort Collins. Additional information, such as times, addresses and driving directions, is available online at www.ASAshop.org/KEYS. "After teaching this class all over the country, it is going to be a lot of fun to present it to shops in Northern Colorado,” says Donny Seyfer, co-owner, Seyfer Automotive, Wheat Ridge, Colo., who will also present the session on behalf of ASA. ASA states that it believes the current voluntary, industry-supported service information process protects independent repairers and consumers by allowing them access to the same information available to manufacturers and dealers. These workshops are part of ASA’s efforts to educate shop owners and technicians about current systems and how they can manage the many service information options available to them. These workshops are designed to educate shop owners and technicians about the numerous service information sources available to automotive repair shops. The educational agenda includes discussions on computers and Internet resources necessary to access service information, manufacturer and third-party Web sites, diagnostic tools that may assist in handling a repair most efficiently, and the role of the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF). Attendees are encouraged to ask questions to address specific service information issues they have experienced. Attendees are also eligible to participate in drawings for training videos and subscriptions to OEM service information Web sites. |
