To help the industry prepare for the implementation of new legislation that prohibits insurer manipulation of estimating database systems, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers, Minnesota (AASP-MN) just concluded a series of five “Know Your P-Pages” seminars throughout the state.

The programs were held in the Twin Cities metro area, Rochester, St. Cloud and Duluth in late July.

The over 260 collision industry professionals who attended got an in-depth look at the Audatex, CCC and Mitchell estimating systems – and the similarities and differences among them.

Industry expert, Mike Anderson, Wagonwork Collision Center, guided attendees through a proven, systematic approach to:

  • Identify and capture all of the “not included” items
  • Audit the quality of your estimates by monitoring KPIs
  • Utilize the re-keying options available for data entry
  • Avoid last-minute parts delays

The seminars received high ratings from those who attended.

Bruce Tschida, AASP-MN President and owner of Lake Marion Collision in Lakeville, states, “This is one of the best classes I have attended. I left with a better understanding of what is included in the p-pages and simple procedure changes to make my business more efficient and profitable. I think it was very helpful in preparing our members for the new law going into effect on August 1.”

The legislation was introduced by AASP-MN earlier this year and went into effect on Aug. 1.
