The author of an industry study on telematics will present his detailed findings and recommendations at the 2008 Aftermarket eForum™, July 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago. Derek Kaufman, president of C3 Network, has performed extensive research on telematics in both the automotive and heavy duty aftermarkets.

Telematics is beginning to gain traction among consumers with such features as GPS, roadside assistance, lock-out service  and stolen vehicle assistance. With remote vehicle diagnostics and other capabilities coming online, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) commissioned a study of telematics and the dramatic impact it could have on the way the aftermarket services and repairs vehicles. Kaufman’s findings will include a comprehensive review of the aftermarket’s future role in telematics.

As the founder and president of C3 Network, Inc., Kaufman and his team take equity positions in start up companies and manage new product launches. The C3 Network team, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., is currently launching Group MetaLab with targeted investments in transportation related innovation.

Early bird registration discounts of $200 off regular rates are available for the 2008 Aftermarket eForum through June 2. For more information on the 2008 conference theme, “Learn More, Earn More: Techniques & Tools For Growing Your Business,” visit www.AftermarketeForum.com or contact Barbara Clark of AAIA at (301) 654-6664.
