Green Earth Technologies has announced that its G-OIL™ “Ultimate biodegradable” products establish a new category: “High Performance Green.”
Test results for G-OIL in 2-cycle engines rival synthetic oils and a significantly higher flash point and incredibly low ash content allows for a much cleaner burn, the company states, adding the low ash content results in a low particulate content of the exhaust. “G-OIL allows for no-smoke, no-particulate operation of 2-cycle engines," says Jeff Marshall, president and CEO of Green Earth Technologies. "The advantages for the micro-environment are huge. Not only will it immediately improve the quality of life for people using chainsaws, scooters, leaf blowers, lawn mowers and trimmers, but in countries where small vehicles powered by 2-cycle engines outnumber full-size cars, G-OIL can drastically cut pollution and smog-related health problems.” To qualify for API-TC rating, 2-cycle oils must pass engine tests for Lubricity, Pre-ignition, Reduced Piston Varnish Build-up and Second Ring Sticking. G-OIL exceeded the performance of an ASTM reference oil in all categories, according to Green Earth Technologies. In the Reduced Piston Varnish Build-up and Second Ring Sticking test, G-OIL averaged 35 percent better than the reference oil indicating longer engine life, the company adds. Green Earth’s proprietary process for utilization of bio-base material, made from sustainable domestically grown beef, pork or chicken fat, used in G-OIL products, can replace or top-off synthetic and petrochemical based engine oils. This base material has the dual characteristics of low temperature operation and a new level of high temperature stability. G-OIL’s base can operate at as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit, states the company. Previous formulas made from a base of animal fat were limited to an operating temperature that bottomed out at 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
