DuPont Acquires IsoTherming Technology for Refining with Less Environmental ImpactWILMINGTON, DE (Aug. 31, 2007) - DuPont today announced it has acquired the intellectual property of IsoTherming Technology and certain other business assets from Process Dynamics Inc. IsoTherming is a leading technology used to provide oil refiners with a faster and less expensive way to produce cleaner fuels - in particular, dramatically reducing sulfur in motor fuels.  Today's conventional petroleum refiners use sulfuric acid as a catalyst in alkylation and handle crude oil with higher sulfur content than ever. At the same time, they are being required to produce low-sulfur products and to reduce the sulfur-based emissions they generate in the process. IsoTherming Technology involves a novel reactor system that is superior to conventional hydrotreating technologies.
